Qualifications

  • Possesses a bachelor’s degree with at least 4-7 years of relevant cross-functional, cross-disciplinary experience or an equivalent of education and experience. 
  • Experience with community-based organizations and partnerships, community development and engagement, nonprofit management, philanthropy, or corporate social responsibility (with significant depth in community volunteering and nonprofit relationships).
  • Communicates a strong personal belief that citizenship can make a difference for the company and society. Expresses a strong interest in and knowledge of social justice, equity, and environmental issues.
  • Significant experience and fluency with communities impacted by social determinants of health (e.g., communities of color, immigrant communities)
  • Excellent external networking and presentation skills, including the aptitude to actively identify appropriate opportunities to share key messages with appropriate constituent groups.
  • Engaging and passionate storyteller, able to effectively craft and position messages to highlight Blue Shield’s corporate social responsibility initiatives building awareness and momentum.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, and organizational and project management skills.
  • Has a good understanding of the business strategy and challenges and can identify how Corporate Citizenship issues can impact specific business networks.
  • Demonstrates ability to build rapport with a wide variety of internal and external stakeholders by genuinely listening to and understanding their perspectives.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with business heads and department leaders.
  • Demonstrates ability to build rapport with a wide variety of internal and external stakeholders by genuinely listening to and understanding their perspectives.
  • Demonstrates a consistently positive attitude and commitment to their work.
  • Demonstrated ability to embrace and take ownership of projects.
