Your Knowledge and Experience
- Master's degree or equivalent experience preferred; bachelor’s degree required, with a preference for a degree in public health, public affairs or public policy
- A minimum of five years of prior relevant experience working in a public policy or policy advocacy setting, with nonprofit organizations, community based or philanthropic organizations, or public institutions
- Knowledge or experience that demonstrates content expertise in public policy and an understanding of the California and national policy landscape, especially on policy issues related to economic security and mobility, domestic violence, or public health and prevention
- Ability to assess the leadership, fiscal health, and capacity of a nonprofit organization
- Exceptional written and oral communication skills
- Exceptional project management skills, including organization and attention to detail
- Strong relationship-building skills, including the ability to manage diverse teams and the personal presence to represent the Foundation in diverse forums and organizational relationships
- Demonstrated strategic and critical thinking skills
- Demonstrated ability to balance multiple complex projects and priorities
